Welcome to Calumet Phonograph Repair Service. I have been repairing antique phonographs since 1988.

Over the past 30 years, I have repaired hundreds of cylinder and disc type machines. I am now exclusively offering reproducer rebuilding services. I can rebuild the reproducer also known as the soundbox to make your machine sound like new. The soundbox is the round part with the needle or stylus in it. These old soundboxes have gaskets in them which have become hard and brittle with age and do not allow the needle to properly track in the grooves, which can cause excessive record wear in addition to tinny sound, blasting etc.

My rebuild service includes dismantling the reproducer, removing all old gaskets, dirt etc. cleaning the reproducer,

replacing the gaskets, reassembly, adjustments and replacement of the rubber back flange if applicable. If the mica diaphragm is cracked or damaged, this can also be replaced.

The Victrola 4A is made of pot metal and are prone to break or crumbing, we may upon exam find it too fragile to rebuild without damage, we can return for postage and handling. (We are not responsible or liable for damage due to pot metal). If we are able to replace the flange, which is rare, the service is an additional $ 20.00

Silvertone, Starr, Magnola, Brunswick (one side), Mandel, Pathe, Cecelian etc. can be rebuilt with replaced gaskets and back gaskets. The service is $ 47.50 per reproducer.

If you need a mica diaphragm replaced, add $ 15.00 each to the above prices.

If balance springs need replaced, the additional cost is $15.00 per set.

We can also provide many thumbscrews etc. at additional cost.
